Gifts from bride for hen party - yes or no?

pearlycat210, 22 of January of 2020 at 11:07 Posted on Planning 0

Hi

I am just wondering what the etiquette was regarding gifts for the attendees?

They have split my cost between them, so I haven't had to pay anything - should I prepare little gift bags to get a thank you or is that OTT?

Just after some feedback of what others have done/would expect

Thanks

I don't think you 'have' to - I've been to a couple of hen do's where the bride didn't pay anything and we didn't get anything from her. After all, if you go out for someone's birthday and split the cost of their meal between the other guests, no one then expects the birthday girl to give them something in exchange! As long as you thank them properly for what they have done, you don't 'need' to give them anything else.

Having said that, presumably these are your very close friends, and giving them a small memento of the hen do is a lovely thought and would be appreciated. If you can afford it, then maybe a small gift as a reminder of this special time would be good. I really think it's up to you.
