I went shopping for dresses yesterday - or so had hoped. I was also with my cousin who is having her wedding earlier than mine.

We went to wed2b without an appointment. They were willing to see us at the time as they were not busy. Even with the amount of dresses on their rack, it did feel a bit limiting? Basically what they have in the shop is what they have. & the impression they gave us is that if you don't intend on buying the dress today or within two weeks then it is a waste of their time. We had hoped to walk around and look around but it wasn't like that. They took us to the dressing room, had us wait and then they selected a dress based on what you have described to them. The service is offputting however the dresses are gorgeous.

There were two other shops we went to visit Just For Bridal and Bridal Boutique. These were smaller shops & not much on their racks. But they were willing to order in a dress you liked. They did also say they had dresses coming in at the end of the year in December and to visit back again. The service here was better. But they did both recommend an appointment booked.

I am sharing this with you because it sounds like we are both recently engaged and looking around. But unfortunately the impression I had from the shop owners were if you are not intending to buy the dress you see that day, they will be gone by the time you want to buy it. That said you should definitely go walk around shops to get a feel of fabrics and the weight of them.
