Going to a wedding tomorrow - help with outfit needed!

ruthy_wuthy, 4 October, 2008 at 15:57 Posted on Planning 0 31

Don't laugh!!!

I have left it sooooooooo late to find an outfit. I really wanted to get something really lovely and colourful but didn't get round to it so looks like I'm just going dressed in my normal clothes...I've fished out 3 dresses from my wardrobe - 2 of which are ok, 1 of which isn't because IMO, my boobies are on display a little too much and it's a little too short for it to be appropriate but OH loves it...probably for the same reasons I just mentioned! ?

So here are the three outfits, please bear in mind that I'm no skinny minnie so won't look fabulous in anything I wear. I've cropped me head out of the piccies because i don't want to frighten anyone (having a bad day).

Which one should I wear? I'm going to curl my hair too as I normally wear it straight....

Now stop it! You have a fab figure! I'd kill for your curves! My favourite personally is dress number one. I love the colour of number 3, but I agree that it might not be quite appropriate! Although I can see why your man loves it!

    You're gorgeous!

Now just try not to outshine the bride!

    Hey Ruth,

I actually really like number three, but I also understand why you wouldn't want to wear it and if your feeling like that then def dont wear it or you'll be uncomfortable all day/night!! So...I vote for number 1, it looks lovely and totally wedding appropriate x

As we have discussed at length before on FB, you are friggin gorgeous girly!!!

Anyway I like them all - but 1 or 2 prob best - with number 3 all the men will be staring at you not the brides you look so foxy!

    ? ladies!!!

Dress number 1 was also my favourite.... but it's always best to get other opinions!

I love all three dresses for different reasons and the blue one is gorgeous too but I think I'll feel really conscious if I wear that. If I was only going to the evening reception I would probably feel differently but as I'm going to the wedding ceremony too, I don't want to appear disrespectful by showing too much IYSWIM?

Thank you for all the lovely compliments...I actually elongated (sp?) the piccies so I didn't look quite as chubby ? . That's as far as my airbrushing capabilities go!

PS - the furry thing cost me £3.99! Bargain.

I'm a bit late to this sorry but I think no 1 is the best too... you look lovely in all of them...

Where did you get a bargain like that on your "furry thing"? ?

I really love number 3 but get why you wouldn't want too wear it to a wedding.

    Number one gets my vote.

    ?

You're not late! Wedding isn't until tomorrow!

I bought the furry thing at my local Oxfam ? I like going into pre-loved shops and finding bargains...it was weird because I was there thinking how i could really do with one of those, and it just jumped right at me!

The purple dress everyone loves was from there too for £2.99.....

Do furry things have a real name?

Yeah it was...I feel a bit bad that I've been such a cheapskate with the outfit...

I saw this lovely dress in Principles but I didn't get round to trying it on and buying it.

    Hi Ruth,

I would go for number one as well. I love the waist number 2 gives you but it's more worky than weddingy I feel. No 3 is a lovely colour but totally see why you don't feel comfy in it.

You have a fab fab figure so stop feeling so down on yourself ?.

    xx

Thank you for all your comments ladies. I wasn't fishing for compliments or anything but thank you for dishing them out anyhow!

    Dress number 1 it is!

I'll take lots of piccies tomorrow in my full outfit...and of the venue too because clueless_bride is getting married there next week and someone else was also enquiring about Belle Epoque in Knutsford!

I think number 1 too. It's a gorgeous colour, and what a bargain you got!!

I love number 3, but agree that it's probably a bit too much for the ceremony.

    Have a great day tomorrow!

Oh no!! I've just realised I don't have a strapless bra to go with my purple dress! OH said he didn't mind and is happy for me to go "al fresco"

    ??

I'm such a crap girl! I don't have a strapless bra, or earrings or any sparkly jewellery to wear tomorrow!

WHAT no jewellery! Tut tut! ?. I'm sure you must have something sparkly either that or run down to your local Asda. If I leave now I could be with you in 4 hours!

Maybe I shouldn't have admitted to doing that to my pics....when (<stalker> not if <stalker>Smiley winking we meet in real life you'll find out I'm just a chubby hobbit!

I only got told about the wedding just over a week ago! OH mentioned it ages ago but only decided to tell me the date 10 days ago or so!!! I thought I had plenty of time.

I hate my boobs. They get in the way.

My OH is definitely a boob man. I think he would be quite happy if he could marry a pair of ginormous walking boobs!

THe scared thing was in reference to Mrs SP's threat of a slap! ?
