Good things to put on crumpets.

Lady Falafel, 9 April, 2009 at 12:00 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

We accidentally bought two packs rather than just the one on our last shopping trip and I've sated myself with the usual butter / jam / peanut butter options.

What else can I try?

Yum, thanks, for some reason savoury never occurred to me. Although I'd love chocolate spread but we can't keep it in the house.

I second melting cheese on them - it's the only way I eat them - they are sooo lovely.

Use them for eggy bread (or eggy crumpets!) with maple syrup and bacon. Mr Boop would kill for that.

I've only ever eaten crumpets with marmite on, I feel like I'm missing out now on a whole host of other crumpet toppings!

    Mmm...crumpets...

<makes mental note to buy some from shops later>

Oh, I think I would kill for eggy crumpets and bacon. Going to have to get some to try that at the weekend now.

I love them with melted cheese and a bit of pepper on. Mmmmm!

I love marmite on crumpets. And lemon curd is quite nice too. Porn food tastic.

I'm a bit of a crumpet purist. Only butter will do for me. All these other things mentioned are things I would contemplate on a toasted muffin, but not a crumpet.

I'd just chuck the other pack in the freezer until I fancied another crumpet or six.

As Boop said - like eggy bread but with chopped up chillies.

I'm another one who loves grilled cheese. Also (maybe this is me being a weirdo) I love butter, apricot or strawberry jam with sliced mature cheddar cheese on top...hmm.

I make mini pizzas with crumpets. A shop bought pizza topping, salami, sweetcorn and melty cheese, shove 'em under the grill until bubbling. I defy anyone to just eat one! ?

Jam, cream cheese, or marmite! Though, not all at the same time.
