Groom Gift

HappyGreenFlowers958, 2 September, 2017 at 10:20 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi Everyone!

I get married 2 weeks today and i am super stuck on what to get my groom as a gift. I was originally going to get him a nice watch but he shut that idea down as he said he doesn't wear watches anymore.

He doesn't drink and we don't really travel. we are going to move into our first home together a week after the wedding.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!!

Something simple that you can get personalised?

I've had engraved cufflinks suggested to me, but you could do a bracelet or pen and get them engraved or even something everyday like a custom mug?

In my experience men usually prefer simpler gifts, but then again the only "special" gift my fiance ever actually wears is the engagement ring I got for him. So I might not be best qualified for this topic...

Hopefully there will be some good ideas on here for both of us!

    Hi,

I'm making my groom a little survival kit for the day. Just got a box and have got a hip flask engraved "to calm your nerves on our wedding day", socks for "no cold feet", mints for our first kiss etc, still trying to think of other things!

I'm doing a kit of a survival kit / open when gift as well. These are the ideas I have - feel free to steal any if they work for you as well! I got a few ideas of other people on here as well. Quite a few of them could easily be made / bought quite cheap and quickly as well. Just take a bit of effort pulling it all together!

    - 'Open when you first get up' - pack of antihistamines (he always forgets!!)

    - 'Open when you're feeling stressed' - small amount of bubble wrap

    - 'Open when you need 5 minutes alone' – bar of chocolate

    - 'Open when you're feeling sad about missing the game tomorrow' – card from his football club

    - 'Open just before you're ready to leave' – letter from me

    - ‘Open when you’re panicking about your outfit’ - Cufflinks

    - ‘Open when you’re thinking about hiding/running away’ - Socks that say 'so you don't get cold feet'

    - ‘Open when you need a reminder of who’s in charge’ - Boxers with property of Mrs X (my new name)

    - ‘Open when you’re excited about the honeymoon’ - Luggage tags that say Mr and Mrs

    - ‘Open when you’re not sure what to wear tomorrow’ - T-shirt that says 'under new management'

    - ‘Open when you’re worried the best man will lose the rings’ – 2 Haribo rings

    - ‘Open when you’re worrying about the speeches’ – earplugs

    - ‘Open when you can’t wait to see me’ – photo of us

    - ‘Open when you’re thinking about the future’ – a list of traditional anniversary gifts

    - ‘Open when you’ve put your suit on’ – personalised Hanky

    - ‘Open when you need a break’ – Groom mug

    - ‘Open when you’ve had your morning coffee’ – Mints for our first kiss

XxAnonxX that is such a good idea!

I'm making a sort of photo album to give my OH the night before but I have the same issue as he doesn't really drink. I hope to find him a pair of tractor cufflinks.

I didn't know we had to get each other gifts. Is this a common thing to do? Never heard of it. He's getting to marry me. That's enough of a gift!
