Groom Survival Kit

Hepburn, 19 May, 2008 at 16:52 Posted on Planning 0 22

I'll be getting my H2B a watch for him to open on the wedding day but I also want to do him a bit of a survival kit of stuff to open on the morning ...

So far I have thought of the following:

Immodium (Nerves sometimes give people a funny tummy I think?)
Headache Tablets (In case he over indulges the night before)
Rescue Remedy (Again for nerves)
Tissues (For when I make him cry because I am such a radiant bride ?)
Emergency Rings (In case one of the Best Men loses our rings in the 20 minutes they ahve them in thier pocket)
Emergency Cufflinks (In case one or both of H2B's nice ones go missing)
Groom Undies (For the day after the wedding)

Any other ideas?

TIA x

Ooo, I like this idea ?. You seem to have most things covered - how about:

    - a wee bottle of whisky / brandy (to calm the nerves as well!)

    - something to make him think of a nice 'two of you' memory (eg, a picture, a poem, something small) (because it should make him feel ? if he isn't already!)

    - a pen and paper just in case he still needs to write his speech ?

    - a CD of songs he likes to play while he's getting ready

erm, that's my brain done for now, will see if i can think of anymore and let you know!

    HTH x

PS - how do i make this stop doing the double spaces between lines?? It really bugs me!

I think it's weird yes but i'll let you off because you're super duper organised.

I just think another set of rings etc is a bit OTT as you could do that for everything. Imagine he got you another dress or shoes just in case you spilt something on yours. It's just more expense.

It's really not that weird, they came as part of one of those 'Best Man Survival Kits' as did the cufflinks. So really I'm not that odd.

I got H2B the kit when he was best man 2 weeks ago and have kept the rings and cufflinks for our wedding! And they are gaudy plastic things that are probably only about 1p each!

And planning the way I do isn't stressful at all, it's just who I am...

Hand cream - so you stand a chance of getting your wedding rings on!

I like the idea - I think my HTB would appreciate the list-i-ness of it...

I have the same idea but it was going to be a pair of thermal socks ( no cold feet for him lol) and a wee nip of whisky in a hip flask to put in his sporran (for dutch courage) i think it is a brilliant and funny idea it will lighten the mood (but not to much lol)

Oooh thanks, hadn't thought of handcream! H2B doesn't drink whiskey etc so that wouldn't work for him but a great idea none-the-less!! ?

    ?

I didn't read it that they were going to be joke ones. I read it that they were going to be there incase someone lost them. In that case i would ask my Mum to chuck me hers. If they are Haribo ones then fine

    I wouldnt bother

FWIW I have a spare shirt to change into in the evening, and a spare tie.. Men are pretty good at fending for them selves (this one is). Clearly I will have my wash kitbag with me, and it allways has everything I need in it with out even thinking about it.. I could grab it now and I would be ready

I know some wouldn't bother but I know it will be appreciated but my H2B, regardless of what he has packed in his washbag, so I was just after some ideas ?

Thanks for the ideas and they have been noted!
