Groom's speech - toast

Confused! Who should the groom toast at the end of his speech?

Every article I read on the internet is very sure who it should be, but some are very sure it's the bridesmaids, and others that it should be the bride. Which is more normal?

    Traditionally the bridesmaids, however I have seen one toast his mates (gay) calling them bridesmaids, and another the parents, the bridesmaids, the aunties, the lot!

    My OH started his speech with "Friends, Family and Freeloaders"... which was aimed at his friends and they knew it!

    He toasted me (bridey) and my bridesmaid and absent friends & family.

    Plan a general path of where you want to take your listeners, with your end clearly in mind. Memorise your opening: "I´m deeply honoured for the opportunity to share some of my thoughts with you tonight... " and memorise your ending
