Guest Book Ideas please....

Kirsty, 9 of April of 2021 at 13:53 Posted on Planning 0 17
We are having a very small wedding (24 people). I would love some kind of guest book but don’t want to end up with loads of empty pages - has anyone had/seen any alternatives that won’t look silly with only a small amount of guests? Thank you

We had a rustic COVID wedding in September and I made this (inspired by a ginger ray smaller version) with the idea that people would write on tags and we could move them around or rewrite them if the handwriting!

Oh hit the button too soon! ?

It means it’s up on the wall not hidden away on a shelf and we have added pictures from the day just printed at home on photo paper as well

We’ve got a globe for guests to sign and leave comments on then we’ll display it in our home. Got it from hobbycraft.

I just saw a cute idea on amazon for a guest book. It was a puzzle with your name and date in the middle and then the guests write on a puzzle piece each round the edges. Smiley shame

We bought a cheap Factory Shop version of Jenga for our guests to write on - didn't end up using it as our reception got cancelled thanks to Covid, but the idea was that we would have something we could use and remember our guests every time we played it.

Here is a couple of ideas for you that I have seen.

The "fingerprint tree" is an odd one, back in 2015-17 they were everywhere and then all of a sudden they just disappeared. You have pads of ink and your guests put their fingerprint in the tree as leaves and write their names next to their leaf. Usually its a hand drawn tree and the bride and groom are pre drawn birds in the tree. The tree in the picture has a plaque instead of birds where the surname gos but I have removed it for privacy. Baby wipes remove the ink from fingers.

Oh, I really wanted to do the fingerprint tree or balloons, I didn’t realise they had been a fad, might have to start thinking about something a bit different!

They were a "thing" but I have not seen one since 2017.

If you like it then go for it, there has been many wedding related "fads" over the years there is very little that is unique - or that stays unique for long.

Another one I have seen is a poleroid camera passed around and people take selfies and write something in the white space at the bottom.

Get people to hang them up with pegs on a length of string at your venue as they do them and it gives everyone else something to look and laugh at.
