Guest book or alternative?

tash&ste, 24 March, 2015 at 18:20 Posted on Planning 0 22

I found a large wooden heart on ebay that our guests could sign which we could then display on our kitchen wall, but want some more inspiration. What is everyone else having? Feel free to flash!! ;-)

We're having one of those too (a large wooden heart). We can use it on the day, and then take it for the friend's party. Its meant to take about 50 or so which is plenty!

    One of these?

We've got an old style school slate with a wooden border to say what the heart is for.

Yes exactly like that! Fab isn't it? I love the slate board sign idea for it too! ❤

We are planning to have a heart drop box. People sign their name and the drop their heart into a frame. Already know where it is going in our house.

Also planning to have a traditional guest book but will use it to put cards in and any guest pictures. So it will be more like a memory book.

I just hope people join in with everything as it will look a little sad if people don't fill them up.

    Lovely idea.

I'm still undecided. Want something we can display rather than a book in the drawer just can't find anything that stands out.

Saw one where you get ink and people put their finger in the ink then onto a picture. Worried the ink would go everywhere though.

Also like the heart drop box thats already been mentioned.

I want 1 of these wedding trees. Guests put there finger print on the the tree to make the leaves. Hopefully it will make a good picture to put up and keep.

I'm hoping to have a heart drop box too. We also have a guest book that comes with our photobooth, the booth does double prints so the guests can stick one copy of their photo into the book and leave a message. I liked the idea of this as the drop box wont leave much room for messages whereas I'm hoping the photo guestbook will allow a bit more room and be a bit more personal

We're having a guestbook with a wooden front with the proposal written next to the uk and the wedding next to Finland. There were so many choices but we chose one easy to transport! I love the puzzles where you write on a piece, the Jenga games, pebbles in a jar which they write on etc but none really tide in with our wedding. Google guest book alternative there are loads!

We've got this too (actually ended up with two). What are you putting on your slate, I'm not sure how to word it!?

    HappygoldFlowers, that's a lovely idea.

I love all of these ideas, but I really love the idea of being able to read messages from our guests after the wedding. I don't feel like we'd get that with a heart drop box and asking guests to both write a heart and sign a guestbook might be a bit much!

We are doing a message in a bottle-which we will read on our first anniversary. I wanted messages rather than just signing something. We will then do something to display the messages after-frame them, or something.

We had a fingerprint tree with a signing board around it for people to leave actual messages. I love it and it's proudly displayed in our lounge

My partners mum got is a guest book, but I felt like I wanted something a bit different and more 'us'.
We've ended up getting a cheap second hand acoustic guitar which were going to put on the wall, very is as my partner has played in a few bands and music played a big part in us getting together. We're still using the guest book tho as it will be nice for people to write longer messages, and the pages that are left can be filled with pictures. Love the wooden heart by the way x

    Hi sorry,

Only just found these messages. I think mine will either come from a Facebook company online called sparkilicious & co (they were the cheapest I found and you could have engraving on the frame of your name and date) or wondering whether to have a go ourselves.
