I really wouldn't bother trying to make your own post box. If you really want to go down the DIY route then why not just buy a plain one and decorate it yourself?

Guestbooks are difficult to find at the best of times. Check out Ebay for deals. The majority are mulberry but plain ones are available. I don't have any Guestbooks instock at the moment, only albums or I could have sorted you one out.

You can really have what you want with a keep sake box. The ones I sell are rectangle boxes with a lid.

Hi Kat, good on you for having a go!

1) I wouldn't try and make a post box. You can buy undecorated boxes from various places such as ebay relatively cheaply.

2) I would also try ebay for the plain guestbooks. The mulberry type will probably be the cheapest option and come in a nice plain box that you can decorate to match.

3) The keepsake boxes also come in the mulberry but are not very big (we dont use these any more for that reason) but you could use a nice plain white giftbox and decorate to match your book and postbox ?

Not sure what kind of look you're thinking of for your guest book but Paperchase do nice big scrapbooks that tie with a ribbon that might work?

Agh! Wish this thread was earlier! I spent £95.00 on a post box, guest book & memories box on Friday! But I do love them, silver & white with hearts and a butterfly...Im not terribly creative, Im even paying to shop Im getting my invites from to out them together....lol

I have got hold of a largeish carboard drum and have set my H2b the challenge of turning it into a red royal mail looking postbox as i think it will be quite fun and will fit in with the village fete theme

If you want to have a go at making a postbox i would say go for it!

I have made my post box my self i will add a pic its not finshed yet thow but its only cost my £1.95 for the cream fabric covering i need to add red roses and callas so it is the same as my table plan and table names
