Guest List Confusion

I'm confused! When creating your guest list in the app, do you include the bride and groom somewhere or is it just the name of the guests. I'm just wondering if am keeping track of the actual numbers of guests. Also does anyone know if its possible to create a waiting list of guests that wont be counted as your running guest count
