Hair and make-up HELP NEEDED PLEASE!

Tallulaha, 22 February, 2012 at 11:27 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi girls (and guys)

So the thing I am most worried about on the wedding day is my hair and make-up - I know that makes me sound a little ridiculous but my hair is ridiculous and needs all the help it can get! So i'm looking around at various hair/make-up artists and I've found a couple of agencies, namely Emily Kent and Love Hair - has anyone used either of these and can recommend? Also do you think it might actually be better to find an actual stylist where you can see their own work on their own website, rather than use an agency and be sent just anyone for the trial without having previously seen their work? I cant afford numerous trials so I need to really make a well informed decision first time round!

Any advice gratefully received!

Where are you based? I could recommend different people for different areas. Personally I've not heard of these & I wouldn't book anyone with out seeing their work, but it is entirely up to you. Also I don't know what they've quoted you so you may be getting it cheaper for doing it this way.

The wedding will be held in Beckenham Kent, which is where I'll be getting ready. The 2 agencies are coming up dearer than individuals i've looked at - they are quoting close to £600 which includes hair and make-up trial for bride only, then hair and make-up on the day for bride and 2 BMs. I'd be very grateful for any recommendations, thank you!

    Wow! That does seem expensive.

Ok...Joyce can do hair & make up. I know she's Surrey but she'd travel. https://www.bridesandbeauty.co.uk/

    Sarah does make up: http://www.makeupbysarahann.co.uk/

And hold on whilst I find the details of the hair dresser in Kent I know. Sorry.....having to dig into the depths of my brain to remember her name!!!!

I got married in July and used make-up artist Anna Bourne for the whole bridal parties make-up. She did a wonderful job and her rate was very reasonable. She is based in Cranbrook kent. Have a look at her website for more details.
