Hair clips - advice!

Hi everyone,

I’m doing my own hair for my wedding, and I’ve settled on having my hair down and swept to one side.
Now, I’ve seen some tutorials using hair clips, but my no.1 fear is they will start falling out/becoming loose on the day.
Any advice what I could do to keep it all secure? I’ve read about making an X with 2 different clips?

I am worse than useless when it comes to hair, so hopefully someone better will come along with advice, but maybe as well as making an X also secure the clips with Bobby pins. I’d probably attempt styling the hair with Bobby pins first too, then the clips would just be decoration and not have to be relied on to keep the hair in place

Sorry I should have clarified when I said hair clips, I did mean bobby pins!
I wonder if there are good quality ones I could invest in? Plus lots of hairspray?! Haha.
