Hair colour and style suggestions please! I fancy a change!

flissy666, 8 March, 2009 at 21:34 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

As the title says, really! I really need some advice. I want new hair colour, and possibly a new style. This collage was quite revealing, as I realised a) I hardly have any photos of me; b) I wear a lot of black; and, c) my hair for the past 10 years has been variations on a theme!

I'm really fancying a change. It's time to ring in the changes!!! My hairstylist is a fantastic colourist who works for Wella, so nothing will be a challenge, technically. I want to avoid too much bleach as my hair is very fine and very dry. Not too short. Fancy a bit of bold colour (ginger?). I don't fear colour - had pink, green, yellow and purple over the years - but it doesn't necessarily suit my deathly pale skin. Suggestions very welcome. Or links to sites that help you think of colours. Help!!! Thankies everyone xxxx

To make this easier, I've included a mosaic so you can see what may suit me ?

I agree with Ronypoo that a short bob would proper fringe would look good, go darker either really dark brown or reddy brown.

You are very pretty [insert the old icon with the pink lipstick face on it]

Thank you so, so much ladies (and Moglie - you make me blushy ?!!). I'd thought about going darker - I am actually chocolate brown naturally, but do a convincing job as a blonde!

Love CZJ in Chicago, but that short cut would be too high maintenance for my liking. I do tend to faff and yank my hair about, hence the tousliness of the middle pic!

I'd *really* like to do a Sophie Ellis Bextor, possibly a shade lighter - what do you think?

You look like you have similar colouring to me. and i have been ginger/copper before. i was not my finest hour...it was so draining

however brunette with copper or red bits in may be a goer. i have had both recently. the copper fades really quickly though so needs decent maintenance, the red less so

there's a pick or two of me on flickr to compare...

Kieren, the maintenance thing is turning me off red... We DO have the same coloring, don't we! Are you dark or blonde naturally?

La Psycho, that's a great idea. I won't do anything without picking her brains - she's got to assume all responsibility for the fact I may not like it, lol!!! She's my hair guru. She works for Wella on a pt basis - she teaches/trains as I understand it. I know her from the salon I go to in Sheffield. She's amazing - I travel back to Sheffield all the time to get my barnet sorted out, despite the fact I moved away two years ago! She travels all over with Wella - she's called Daniella and is uber-pretty and lovely to boot (gah!).
