Im not sure if this helps but if she is looking for a wider range of suppliers Dumfries is the closest town (All my family still live there) I'll have an ask tomorrow and let you know if anyone has any ideas.

ETA - now that I think about it The castle is nearer Annan than Gretna. so Annan might be worth a look at too. If you have transport Hetland Hall would be fab for a reception and AFAIK it has won awards. (they have a spa so might also do make up etc too) If I was getting married back home its where I would choose.

Can I ask why she is getting married at caerlaverock? [nosey icon]

I am also getting married in Gretna Green next May and I have booked Fiona and June for my hair and make up. As for the wedding cake I am ordering mine from Marks & Spencer for pick up in Gretna Green, their cakes are lovely and great if your on a budget! I'm not too sure about the reception though as I am getting married at The Mill and our reception is also being held there.

Excuse the unannounced post, but I am a new bride to be and new to hitched, but I was lookign at your thread as I was interested in getting married at caerlaverock castle as well. Is it possible you could tell me any thing about the place, or anyone else for that matter as I having a hard time deciding on a venue. Also its my second marriage and I want it to all go right this time.
