Hairdresser in surrey needed

xkaitlynx, 4 of December of 2014 at 19:58 Posted on Planning 0 15

Can anyone recommend a hairdresser to do mine and my mums hair on my wedding day please? I am getting married on 5 Sep 2015.

Our wedding is near Redhill and we will be staying in a nearby hotel the night before so will be getting ready there.

I don't have a huge budget but equally I am looking for someone professional. I will probably be using clip in extensions and using real flowers in my hair so someone who is experienced with those would be ideal.

please help!

Welcome to Hitched! I'm around that area, where are you getting married? What hotel are you staying in? Your wedding day is very close to mine, i'm a September 2015 bride too Smiley smile I know a few freelance hairdressers in the area that may do wedding hair - I presume you want them to come to you rather than you go to a hairdressers? The real flowers sound lovely!

Ooo...I'm from Redhill too! Getting married in Dorking on 7th November 2015.

I have a friend doing my hair. However a friend of mine is getting married in August and is using a mobile hairdresser, she's called Carol and is based in Merstham (that's all the details I have but can find out more if you want). Apparantly she's very good and reasonably priced!

Nutfield Priory is gorgeous, I've stayed there for a wedding - the rooms are lovely. Robert Denholm House is equally lovely - my good friend is having their wedding party there too, small world! Smiley smile You've picked gorgeous venues. I'll ask around and see if anyone is free then. I would recommend my supplier, but she's doing both hair and make up and doesn't do just hair on it's own (she's predominantly a make up artist). How far have you come along in your plans, have you got your dress, etc?

How exciting Janeycam5! We are so close to each other. Dorking...are you getting married at Denbies, or somewhere else? Love Dorking, it's gorgeous. Nice to know there are some local brides!

That Barn is stunning! What a fab choice of venue. I'm getting married at Hartsfield Manor in Betchworth - not that far away from dorking at all. Haha, yeah i'm amazed to find other Redhill brides!

    Hi,

I'm using Colette from CJ Beauty & co, she specialises in up dos with extensions & floral bridal up do's, she's reasonably priced considering others I've looked at and is a make up artist too. She's based in Basingstoke so not far at all. She's doing my hair, my mums and my bridesmaids.

Her ear website is http://www.cjbeautyandco.co.uk but her facebook has lots more to look at. I booked her because I loved her eye make up and her reviews are brilliant. She's very friendly & easy going.

    hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll check out Collette. Basingstoke is a bit of a trek. I'm always panicking about delays - I'm an on time kind of bride!

ill see if I can find the lady in merstham too as that would be handy.

Pretty much have everything done - dress (gorge), venue, registrar, flowers, cake, catering, marquee, most of the decorations, bridesmaid dresses.

Things I have left are transport (I'm thinking routemaster bus), dj, band, rings, suit. Think that's about it. Phew!

Would be great to hear everyone else's plans x

Oooh I've just come across this thread and it is so nice to see/hear of other Dorking brides!

I'm getting married at Denbies on 12th September Smiley smile

I'm booked to use Carrie Jessup for my makeup (My own hairdresser will be doing mine as I am SO fussy with my hair!) - has anyone used her or know of people who have used her?

Are you having the garden room & conservatory too? We're going there on 7th march for our menu tasting Smiley smile so excited, it's such a beautiful place.

You must be so excited, it's getting very very close!!! What is your dress/decor/colour scheme like if you don't mind me asking?

Yes we are having the same rooms. We really wanted the lights to stay up in the conservatory but they will be taken back down by our wedding. We did our menu tasting a few weeks ago. it was really good. They gave us a lot of wine to try too! The chef came and spoke to us and was really friendly.

We aren't having many decorations. We have decided against chair covers as it was going to cost about £500 just for the ceremony room. If we wanted them in the conservatory room too you had to have a second set of covers. Plus, as its March most people will have coats which will be on the back of their chairs! We are having flowers and that's really it! We have quite a lot of children coming so have decided against candles!

My dress is Maggie Sottero "Violet". I am collecting it tomorrow from the seamstress. V. excited. The bridesmaids are all in different pastel colour dresses. Flowers are all cream.

    What about you? x

Oooh it all sounds fab - google your dress, wow! !

We really wanted the fairy lights in the conservatory but the companies were quoting £900+!!

We have a travel theme to our wedding and the colours blue & yellow...have sorted out chair covers but torn as to whether I should just have the nice chairs with blue wicker hearts I have.

Having giant light up initials where the piano usually is in the garden room and a photo booth and band in the eve.

My dress is a house of mooshki - Darla and I LOVE it!!

Make sure you post some pictures from the wedding - I can't wait to see!!x
