Halterneck/strappy wedding dresses

conwc002, 10 August, 2012 at 22:20 Posted on Planning 0 21

I'm not getting married till September 2013 but really like the idea of a halterneck dress or strappy dress but can't see many online! Just wondering if any of you have seen any and if so can you send me a link please :-) x

Maggie Sottero have quite a few different ones in halterneck and with straps

Here's a peek at the first few halternecks that came up. (Any excuse to look at the dresses for me)

    "Bridget"

    "Sonora"

    "Acapulco"

    "Camden"

Dont get wrapped up in them having to have straps...i did this and believe me there are hardly any dresses with straps or halter necks...i have now been looking at strapless dresses that i like the shape of on me and then going to be getting a seamstress to add on the straps...dont restrict yourself to dresses that already have them as you may end up feeling you have to go for one of them x

They're stunning aren't they. I do love Maggie dresses, they ALL seem to be amazingly beautiful.

I love halternecks as I think they flatter my figure so always wanted a wedding dress in a halterneck style esp as I don't like to go strapless. The selection is much more restrictive though.

I fell in love with my dress when I saw it in the window of my local bridal show, complete with halterneck. When I went to try it on, I found out it was actually strapless & the halterneck had been added. Because they had matched the material, you would never realise it wasn't part of the original dress.

The seamstress has made the halterneck strap detachable in case I change my mind (unlikely).

Why don't you find the rest of the dress that you love & do the same as me?

Mine has speggetti straps with beading on (Trudy Lee) but I don't think you can get it any more, I went to the shop where my BM's dress are from and had a look through theres (my mum was giving me evil eyes!) and there were quite a few with straps/halternecks.

Defo don't discount the strapless, think about getting it added if you find find the one!

I love this too. Found 'The Wedding Shop' in Colchester Essex has it in store. I live 1.5 hours away in Surrey but considering making the trip to try it crazy as that sounds.

Essense of Australia do a quite a few with detachable straps, this is mine.

Quite a few brides on here have altered their dresses to add straps, change neckline etc so I agree with the other suggestions that you should find a dress that you like the shape of then find a good steamstress if you want to add straps. My shop is ordering in extra lace to make a jacket to go over the dress, there are so many options to change a dress to make it perfect for you.
