Hanging things across reception room when not allowed to attach things to the wall

Emma, 20 September, 2022 at 12:19 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hey all,

We booked our wedding venue for June 2023 based on the flexibility it gave us and the forest we walk in behind it. It isn't my dream venue but it felt like we could compromise because they basically told us we could decorate it how we want and I have a very specific theme in mind.

The wedding supplier was a 3rd party company who 'hired' the venue. Anyway, long story short the 3rd party supplier pulled out so the venue have now hired their own in house wedding team. The new wedding coordinator is much more strict and has said no confetti, no hanging things on the wall (and I am anticipating not being allowed to light candles) and has limited our ceremony numbers. We have bought 250 honeycomb balls to hang from the ceiling - she has now said we can't put even the stick on, no damage hooks on the wall so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or is planning anything else to hang things? See picture for the vision. I am not fixed on this so happy to think of some other way of displaying them.

Going round in circles trying to solve this! Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for your help. Those frames are a great idea. I will have a google.

Struggling so much with the wedding coordinator - happy to be flexible but the goal posts keep changing and it is so confusing!

Are these restrictions they have set after you signed a contract? If so, I wonder if you have any right to challenge as it isn't in the contract you've agreed. I would think something like limiting your ceremony guests to less than previously agreed is a significant breach.
