Today was going to be the day we got married. This coming Wednesday is the 5th anniversary of our first date, so it seemed perfect. We only got as far as reserving the date when my mum revealed that my Nanna was more unwell than we'd realised, and asked us to consider moving it forward. We sat down and thought about it. Could we organise a wedding in less than 8 months? Could we afford it? Could my OH cope with going from boyfriend and girlfriend to married so quickly? But in the end none of that mattered as much as my grandparents being at my wedding. We spoke to the venue and booked the first available date.
So now I sit here on what I was sure would be my wedding day, very happily married for just over 8 months! And it was the best decision we could have made. My Nanna quickly got worse after our wedding to the point where she had to stop driving, she could no longer walk, and then eventually couldn't even leave the house. On Wednesday she went in to have an operation, it went well but she is still in hospital. I couldn't have got married without her. Im so grateful to have the most wonderful husband, who despite all his fears put me and my family first, it just made me love him more.
So happy non wedding day to you all, and happy actual wedding day to the lovely kimiu and pipsybus, what a beautiful day for it. x
