Harpist....how much?

DizzyHeart, 4 February, 2009 at 17:58 Posted on Planning 0 3

Anyone know roughly how much it would cost to hire a harpist to play during the wedding breakfast?

My Dad is getting married (!) in August, and would love to surprise him with a harpist......I realise that costs would vary, but just wanted a 'ball-park' figure

Thanks (in advance)

Good luck with all your wedding days x

I have a friend who plays harp at weddings, she makes around £250 for a couple of hours. This is in and around the Yorkshire area.

Mine is £250-£300 and then £30 for travelling, depends on how long I would like her to play for, haven't discussed the final details yet as I won't know them until closer to the time.

    Hi there,

yes - ballpark would be between £250 and £350 for around 2 hours depending on your requirements. We've recently put up on our website some hints and tips on hiring musicians if you've never done it before. Have a quick look at How to Hire Wedding Musicians, What to pay for and Contracts

Bottom line is always get a contract from him or her as it lays down in black and white what both of you require so there are no misunderstandings.

    Good luck!
