Has anyone put their bank card through the wash and

Have it live to tell the tale?

OH has just washed his jeans and left his wallet in them. All the cards have been washed and dried!!!?

We're off to Canada tomorrow and I don't carry a credit card! My debit card was in his wallet and the signature strip has been washed off so now my card is void, and it's bent!!!

At least we have my other current account card so can still get money out...

Can we have vibes that the Chip and Pin will still work on the VISA Card?

    Despite nagging til I'm blue in the face OH never empties his pockets before he puts his jeans in the wash. Admittedly I dont always check either? but I have found 5 cards in the washing machine before now, at least one has been through twice and they have all worked fine after.

    Mr v's cards have been through the wash several times and still work. They've never ended up bent though.

    Well, my machine is a combi washer/dryer and he needed his jeans done for tomorrow. So i put it on for a wash straight through to dry. If i had checked it at the end of the wash, we'd be ok but as they got dried too some bent!!

    right, off out to the 24 hour supermarket to check if they work!

    I've done this. Card came out bent and worked fine for several months, until its bentness caused it go get stuck in a ticket machine at Waterloo and never be seen again.

    Well they still work, mine is too bent to swipe though!

    Canada is a little damp at the moment so we feel right at home!
