Have not enjoyed planning at all

HappyGreenDiamonds6606, 9 January, 2022 at 09:58 Posted on Planning 0 4
We've been engaged for 2 years and our wedding is 6 months away and I have not enjoyed one bit of wedding planning. The only part I enjoyed so far was getting my dress.

My mental health has taken a turn while my son is currently under assessment for Autism so wedding planning just hasn't been the priority and because I've been so low I've had no motivation to plan anything, even when I've had the time.
I really regret having 4 bridesmaids. People are pulling out my hen. I just feel like I'm spending all this money and planning this big day for people who just don't care.
Growing up i always wanted the big wedding, now If i could go back I'd have my son, fiance and our parents and we'd have a small ceremony and then maybe a party with people after.
I feel like I've been robbed of what's meant to be such a happy time.

It is such a shame you feel this way, you have enough going on so the little things are bound to frustrate and get you down. I feel a bit the same, people not responding to invites, my MOH hasn't done anything about organising my hen and seems disinterested as what I said I want isn't what she wanted to plan , my other BM has moved in with a guy she met but is now very distant and I doubt I will see her before the wedding! I wish we hadn't bothered with the whole big wedding as even some family seem disinterested, but, we are where we are and cost to much to change no, but we have scaled back some things where we can.

Take a deep breath and remember that the day is about you and your OH and try not to let the little things get you down, focus on what the meaning is of the day and that you will become a family. I am not worrying about other people's needs orb opinions, just focus on you and your family. I hope you feel better about it soon xx

I’m so sorry you’re going through this—coping with your son’s assessment and struggling with mental health while wedding planning is so overwhelming, it’s totally okay you don’t enjoy it right now. You don’t have to stick to the big wedding you once wanted, a small ceremony with your son, fiancé and parents is perfect. The people who care will get it, don’t waste energy on those who don’t. The joy of picking your dress matters most. I completely understand how overwhelming this must feel, especially when balancing personal challenges and family responsibilities alongside wedding planning. It’s important to remember that taking care of your mental health and your son’s needs comes first, and it’s perfectly okay to adjust expectations for your big day to make it truly meaningful for you and your loved ones. Just like in healthcare, where personalized care and support make all the difference, having guidance from trusted professionals, such as a professionelle Radiologie Praxis in Wolfsburg , shows how expert support can bring clarity and reassurance during stressful or uncertain times.
