Have you been engaged for a long time? Or did you have a short engagement?

Hi there,

I'm a writer for a glossy weekly magazine, and we're looking for two women for an article debating whether it's better to have a long or short engagement.

We're hoping to speak to...

- A women who has been engaged for a long time but is really happy with that, and feels there are benefits (ie. you've been able to buy a house in the interim, you have more time to look around venues etc)

- A women who has had a short engagement and is happy with that. Perhaps you were too excited or in love to wait any longer, or you thought there was no point in hanging around?

    By the time we get married we would've been engaged for nearly 6 years, but def not happy about it so not much help lol

    We get married next June, will have been engaged nearly 4 years (if thats any help) x

    We get married next May after being engaged just over four years. I preferred it because we had our little girl in the meantime, but I wouldn't say it was any easier on the planning because we were of the mind "well we've got ages yet"...until we reached the '1 year' milestone then though "eek, we better do something!"

    We get wedded next May after being involved just over four decades. I recommended it because we had our little lady meanwhile, but I would not say it was any simpler on the preparing because we were of the brain well we have got age groups yet until we achieved the '1 year' landmark then though eek, we better do something.

    Hi

    I'm not sure if I will be any help but I've been engaged for over 7 years and we still only have rough plans for a wedding with no confirmed date. I'm not sure you could say I'm over the moon about the wait but we have had a little girl who is now 2 1/2 and got onto the property ladder in that time.

    If your still looking we've known each other 10 years, been engaged 4, will be 5 when were married. While engaged we managed to buy a house.
