headaches/nausea

pink & glitz, 28 April, 2014 at 20:12 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

Hi! For the past 3 weeks, nearly every day I have been getting a headache and its also been making me feel sick. I never am sick tho! Its the feeling of nausea I dont like. I take headache tablets but they don't seem to work!!! The headaches are across my forehead and eyes or one side of my head. I got my eyes tested and its got nothing to do with my sight.

Argh! Why am I getting this? Anyone else got these symptoms?

I never get ill apart from my ibs!

I have been taking ibuprofen and syndol tablets, I never ever suffer from headaches or nausea so I am wondering what's going on. If it keeps happening I will go to my gp. Thanks for your advice xx

How long have you been taking Syndol for? It should only be used for a max of 3 days because it contains codeine and you should also be aware that you may suffer codeine induced headaches which causes you to go around in circles with medication. You should go and see your GP, they may just be tension headaches in which chase they can prescribe a muscle relaxant but you really shouldn't be reliant on over the counter painkillers especially those containing codeine. If you stop taking the Syndol you may find they ease or you can stop taking it and if it gets bad try migralieve as that has a strong painkiller but also has anti nausea with will help you more.

    Hope this helps.

    xx

May be migraines, in which case there are very different types of pain medications. But also be aware as the earlier poster said about codeine induced headaches. Having been on codeine for well over a month with the slipped disc, I came off it when I started getting headachy quite a bit just in case and they've cleared up again.

I get symptoms similar to this if I haven't had enough to drink.

Has anyone mentioned or tested for an inner ear thing? Or, are you eating enough? I get a similar thing if I eat too little during the day.

Are you stressing over anything? I get theses when I'm stressed out over something. Try taking ginger for the sickness and as funny as it may be try jumping on the spot for a couple of minutes. The faster your heart rate is going the faster your blood is pumping more oxygen gets to your brain.

The age old saying of not tonight dear I have a headache counts for nothing. ?

Hi I have been taking syndol and ibuprofen on and off for 3 weeks, I drink bottles of water each day so I think it may bee stress. Changes at work recently, not getting on with my boss. If it continues I will go to go, my OH suffers migraines and he takes to bed so I don't think I have that, I try to work through it until I get home from work. I also drive a fair distance to work, 60 miles a day so this could be contributing!

Thanks for your responses, it's much appreciated!xx
