Heel protectors (to stop you sinking into grass)

nat2683, 11 January, 2011 at 21:35 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi

I went for a dress fitting today and lady in the shop suggested I get some heel protectoirs as I said I was a bit worries about sinking into the mud during photos.

Here are some I have found online:

Sorry bout the tiny pic.

Has anyone used heel protectors or can recommend where I should buy some from?

If you have trouble finding them or they do not look right then i always suggest flat shoes, they wont be seen under the dress and are only used for photos on the grass.

White trainers, wellies (plain or funky)

I am going to have to get some too - our church has lots of grass that we will want pictures on.

Going to get a pair from ebay:

Unless it's a short dress any photographer worth their salt would locate a flat piece of wood to stand on or have one in their car.

Those things aren't much of an improvement and may even come off when you sink and try to lift your feet out of the grass.

On a purely practical engineering / physics point of view I can't see how those will make much difference. They'd need to be a lot larger.

This is why you have those huge tennis racket like things as snow shoes.

You'd need a mushroom sized thing to make a difference.
