Yes, save the dates are a kind of heads up you send once you have your date confirmed..you don't put any info on it other than to keep the date free, and would only send to your day guests so make sure you are happy with your guest list before you send. They can be sent 12-18 months I'm advance and then formal invites 4-6 months before the day
