Help - Alternatives to chair covers

Vintage84, 13 March, 2012 at 13:06 Posted on Planning 0 11

The chairs at my venue look like this

So they're not horrendous.

The thing is, the venue are saying it would cost £3.50 per chair to get a simple white chair cover, which I think is ridiculous. But I do wonder whether my room is going to look half done without them.

Has anyone come up with an alternative?

Honestly, i think they are just fine as they are, i don't think they need covering.

ETA, you could you dress them up with ribbon/tulle/flowers etc if you think they look too plain.

I agree - people hire these kind of chairs to use and they look lovely without anything added to them. You could put flowers on each end chair if you really wanted something?

I think were having these chairs too! I'm going to tie a sash around them so my colour is in the room but like you been quotes £2.50-£3.50 or 60p per sash.

    I agree, they're nice chairs!

Ours are quite plain but we aren't covering them as it would end up costing an extra £200 to have plain white covers which I think is just a waste...

Personally I wouldn't bother but if you really want chair covers you can get them cheaper if you shop about. OH's sister found a company that could do them for about £1.50 a chair for her wedding but in the end decided she'd rather put the money towards her honeymoon. As far as I remember no one gasped in horror at her naked chairs ?

I personal don't like chair covers, think they are a little bit old hat.

    Plus these are nice chairs..

What about attaching a flower our something to the back of the chair along with the guests name place.

I agree with the majority, leave the chairs as they are and spend the money on something else. They are actually not bad at all!
