    Panic not!

Re: the 'miracle' diets - lighter life is the most expensive, have you looked into others? I'm on Cambridge Diet which is about £40 a week; I reckon my normal shopping bills were £30 a week anyway, possibly more when I was really low-carbing as I bought so much more meat / fish and fresh veg and none of the 'cheap offers'.

Secondly, with a wedding date of 6th May, you could potentially have your final dress fit as close to a week before, but I'd say have 22nd April in mind (a fortnight before) for final weight loss. You can dress shop without being at your ideal size, as dresses can be taken in.

So between now and 22nd April you have almost 5 months. You have already lost 10lbs in 3 weeks - so you'll probably hit the stone marker by next week. Does your 4 stone include this first stone you've almost lost?

If it does, that means you'll have 4.5 months to lose 3 stone, which is less than 2.5lbs a week! Totally doable. My advice if you're really worried would be to go on Cambridge Diet, or Exante (which is slightly cheaper and you can buy online rather than having to make appointments with a consultant) which pretty much promises a loss of 1 stone per month.

Alternatively you could try calorie counting - a deficit of 3500 cals equals a loss of 1 pound of fat. So if you need to NOT eat 8750 cals a week to lose 2.5lbs a week. The average woman needs 14,000 cals a week to maintain current weight, so by NOT eating 8750 of those, it means you'd only be eating 5250 cals a week, or 750 cals a day. IMHO the only 'safe' way to do this is a specialised low calorie diet.

I would feel comfortale going as low as 1200 calories per day eating 'normally', which would suggest a weekly loss of 1.6lbs but in reality, the heavier you are, the more calories you body uses just carrying you around, and so you could get a higher loss per week still eating 1200 per day. If you struggle with this, then somewhere like Slimming World may be an alternative.

I lose 4 stone on Cambridge diet, in 4.5 months. First few days are the hardest, and then it's not bad at all!

I've lost a stone in a month by doing the Weight Watchers Pro points. I've now got 2 stone to loose in a year before our wedding, so do-able i think!

I bought the starter pack on Ebay for about £7, (I'm too cheap to go to the meetings at £6 a week!) and followed the points plans on there. It definitely made me feel less tired, even though I made myself stick to the lowest points a day, and I was suprised how many points are in every day foods. I think because you have to weigh everything, you think more about what you actually are eating, and because you spend so long weighing it all, you have less time to eat! :-)

    Good luck :-)
