Help me get Hermione hair

I'm cack handed but was surprised at how simple it was to use GHD's although it's more difficult to do the back - could someone help you? The tehcnique is just like curling ribbon.

I've just been googling and found this:

Wash your hair the night before (get a spray bottle full of water to dampen it if you are short on time). Braid your hair into very small braids, (the smaller the better), then go to sleep. When you wake up, take out the braids. Do not comb them out! If your hair is not brown, buy some temporary hair dye, and spray your hair with it. After that, buy medium to mega hold hair spray and spray your hair with that after you are finished taking out the braids and coloring.

This should work.

Don't wash your hair.

Take strands of your hair and wind it round the heated tongs. Hold for a minute or so, then instead of unwinding the tongs, open them and gently pull from the curl. Hold it in your hand and if you have the kind of hair that doesn't take curl easily, kirbygrip it so it doesn't drop, if not, move on to the next strand till you've done your whole head.

Spray with lots of hairspray, let it start to dry, then pull your fingers through the ringlets to pull them down /let them drop.

Wash your hair, blow dry upside down, backcomb like crazy and hairspray to fix

Yay! Does this mean you've taken my suggestion and are going to your fancy dress party as Harry & Hermione?! You'll have to post some pictures.

I'd try and use some gravity, like someone else said, put your head upside down and blow dry, use hair spray at some point. Also when curling with the tongs "do" the hair base first and work your way to the top layer. Hope this made sense?

Oh dear, the tongs appear to be broken (have been having a practice). Shall try to work outhow to curl with straighteners, sob.

If you can't do it the curling ribbon way then the hairdresser once told me that you can also make a snail with a piece of hair and just clasp the snail between teh hot plates IYSWIM but I think that'd be hell of a lot more of a faff. Honestly, if I can do it the ribbon way then anyone can.
