Help please!! Different boroughs

Zoe, 26 November, 2022 at 10:35 Posted on Planning 1 4
Hi guys, hoping someone can help me? I live in one borough but I'm getting married in the neighbouring borough, who do I register with? Or do I have to register with both? Thanks so much xx

You book a registrar for the borough you will hold the ceremony in and then give notice in the borough you live. They then pass on to the ceremony borough. Hope that helps and makes sense

You and your partner have to give notice in your local borough. Double check if your local council have a limit on how far in advance you can register. Some councils cap it at a year ahead because they've been inundated with wedding registrations post Covid.

You can already have booked your regsitrars in the other borough before you give notice, as long as you allow a clear 29 days before your ceremony.
