Help!! Relaxed wedding venue in Kent with hog roast?!!!

Mrs G to be!xx, 1 December, 2013 at 10:49 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi all We`re trying to find a venue that does hog roast as a wedding breakfast instead of a formal 3 course meal, in Kent can anyone suggest a resonsbly price venue that does this? We are not having the full traditional wedding but finding it hard to find a relaxed venue that let you plan as you want rather than do what they want you to do! Any help is much appreciated! x

We are getting married at Swallows Oast https://www.swallowsoast.co.uk/

It's in East Sussex rather than Kent, but pretty close to the border (we are Kent based as well). Very reasonably priced, you have to use their caterers but I am almost certain they are able to do a hog roast. They certainly don't just do a formal sit down as it's one of the reasons we chose them Smiley smile

I've been to a wedding fair here https://thehousemeadow.co.uk/ and it was beautiful, I had serious venue envy. They are very much a blank canvas so you would have complete freedom with caterers etc. I'm not sure of the price, but I don't think it's overly expensive.

    Hope that helps Smiley smile

A second suggestion for the house meadow Smiley smile

    We're having our wedding there.

You can use your own caterers, which can work out cheaper and you have the choice between using the barn or the field (or both)

Check out some of the barn venues in Kent - https://www.jmfdisco.co.uk/regional/wedding_venues_in_kent_barns.htm - most will provide a beautiful backdrop for your special day. Many village halls also give you the flexibility to bring in your own caterers. Check out http://www.beaubraycaterers.co.uk/ - now I am really hungry!

The best thing would be having an outdoor wedding. It would be a lot of fun and comparatively reasonable in cost and also one of the romantic wedding venues you can ever choose. We desperately wanted ours to be an outdoor wedding but due to unpredictable climatic conditions, had to chose Le Jardin Conference & Event Centre in Toronto as our wedding banquet hall!
