I wonder if anyone is able to help me translate the tasting menu(Menu Degustacion) for this restaurant? Im going to Santander is Spain and would like to book a great restaurant, and this one has a Michelin star so should be nice!

Testing my Spanish to the limit (and google)

Dish one seems to be a mille feuille of sardines and smoked eel served with a chilled almond soup.

Should I give up now ?

Im sorry I havent got time to translate it all for you now, but "rabo de vaca" = Cow's ass ? Poor choice of words I think!

Hahaha! Oh wow that sounds like an...insteresting combination!? ?

Work is banning the translation websites for some reason, so I cant even try to get my own dodgy translation.

P&P, if you feel like it..please do give the rest a whirl! Thanks!

    OK, next we have

Bonito escabeche with squid and mussels

Rice, langoustine tempura and garlic mayo

Salmon Romero (with chilli I think), confit tomatos, rosmary sauce

    . . .

    Looks like:

Oxtail with onions and crunchy potatos

Greengages, cream, red berry sabayon and something with Granny Smiths

Oranges in Campari, lemon sorbet, lime tea.

Rellena comes back as "black pudding", but I doubt that is part of your first desert.

Well, I reckon thats about 70% accurate.

starter-wise you have the following (please excuse the unflowery translation - I suspect some of it is the equivalent of jus when they could just as well say gravy!)

Sardine and smoked eel puff pastry (most likely a tart) with vegetables and white almond and garlic (the cold soup most likely).

Escabeche of bonito with baby squid and mussels.

Rice with cachon (not sure what that is in this context), tempura king prawns and ali oli (garlic mayo).

Rosemary smoked salmon wiht confit tomatoes and romesco sauce.

Oxtail stuffed with spring onion and potato 'crunch'.

Greengage in its juice, stuffed with almond cream, served with a sabayon of red fruits, arabanso olive oil and granny smith apple.

Campari Orange (soaked segments I imagine) wiht lemon sorbet and lime shavings.

    Aww, thanks P&P!

It certainly sounds different and it did not exactly make my mouth water(will blame your translation ? ) but I might just book it anyway!

I just got an email from H who has been using a translating tool on the menu ?:

Napoleon of sarin and smoked eel with vegetables and fresh garlic white almond (Sounds interesting and Yum!)

Pretty marinating with squid and mussels (Still sounding good and at least it will be pretty!)

Rice with Cachon and tempura shrimp in the soft ali oli (Well it's got garlic so surely it's good)

Smoke salmon with tomato confit and rosemary sauce romesco (Not sure about the tomato confit!)

Tail stew of cow painted with chives and crispy potato (Sounds Yum! My favourite course so far)

Claudia in his plum juice filled with almond cream Sabayon soft fruit and oil Arbosana with apple granny smtyh (Bit fruity for my liking)

Campari sorbet with orange to lemon Noval of the green tea and lime chips (Lime chips...????)
