Help with photographer

Sam, 5 of October of 2023 at 08:36 Posted on Planning 0 5
We’re getting married next September and have hired a photographer. Initially we purchased a lower package but after considering it want to upgrade to the top package. We’ve emailed our photographer to confirm and although they can be slightly delayed in getting back to us, we have heard nothing for nearly 3 weeks. We’ve sent her a few chase ups but they’re still not getting back to us.
We’re getting really worried and slightly concerned that they are very unreliable. Can anyone help?

It could be that they have another full time job and shooting weddings are something they only do part time, which may explain when you say they have been delayed in getting back to you in the past.

Are they active on social media ? have they posted recently, so you know that they are at least still shooting weddings, try phoning them and leave a message if they do not answer. Have they gone on holiday perhaps.

Do they have a business email address that includes their trading name, because if they use a gmail or hotmail type one then those email systems can be really fussy with things they think are potential spam so she may not of seen your emails. With a business email address attached to your website you have more control of spam settings

Thanks. It’s a full time profession for them. They are always active on social media and we’re thinking of reaching out that way if we haven’t heard end of this week. They use a business email address and we’ve replied to the same chain so there is consistency.

Well that's all the most obvious and common reasons for bad/slow communications ruled out then.

It could be that they saw your email - late at night, realised it is not mega urgent to reply that night then in the morning had a wedding - comes back at 1 am -then Sunday is doing family stuff - Monday comes back to emails and finds 48 junk spam rubbish amongst actual work emails. Deletes the spam and has to answer the other ones as they are urgent and need a response.

By this time your email has been pushed off the screen and gets forgotten. Its easily done for a busy photographer - I know Smiley xd

But that doesn't explain the other follow-ups that you have sent.

It would be room for concern, not hearing back from your supplier however, I know that emails can still end up in junk after the first in the chain landing in the inbox.

Could you possibly send them an enquiry form via their website?

I would spam them across every contact you can find haha but that’s just me.. phone numbers, website, social media, instagram, Facebook, email at least twice more and then send a letter… sounds BARMY but you’d definitely hear back..?
