Hen do planning

Laura, 4 August, 2024 at 10:51 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 1
Looking for advice.
I have been planning my own hen do which I totally regret. It’s been so stressful chasing people and trying to get everyone involved. I either don’t get responses or people are now telling me they are not sure if they can make it 1 month before we go. I also paid for everyone expecting them all to transfer the money as agreed which only half of the group have.
I want to leave the group chat for the rest to be discussed/ planned between the party and so it’s somewhat of a surprise.
Any suggestions for an exit message so I don’t sound I’m completely over it?

Is there anyone in the group who you think might take on the planning? If not, the risk of leaving the group is that nothing gets planned at all and you end up with a hen do where nothing happens!

If you are confident that someone else will do the final bits of planning, then I would agree it with them and then say something like "I'd love part of my hen do to be a surprise for me, so I'm leaving the group chat now so that I don't see the rest of the plans. Looking forward to seeing you all on [date]"
