Hen Night - Facebook?

MrsLtobe, 11 December, 2011 at 15:50 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hey all,

I think it might be easier to put my hen night up as a (private) facebook event and give details that way, what do you think? Is that tacky?

It's just for a meal and night out really, I'm organising it as don't have MOH or BMs and I like being in control haha

No, I don't think it is tacky at all. I have done the same. We are going to Spain for a long weekend, my CBM and myself got fed up of all the backwards and forewards text messages that we being sent etc. So I created one where I could create documents of how much things cost along with photos and pictures of the hotel and resort.

It has worked really well and has meant that those friends that didn't know one another got to chat and interact together before we go.

For a hen do I don't think it matters at all. Probably the easiest way if everyone is on facebook.

*phew*! I thought it was fine, but wasn't sure if people send out invites etc? I've never been on a hen night!

Also, the hen night is 25th February, shall I wait until New Year to invite people?

I'd do it now personally. The earlier the better - means people are less likely to have made plans and can budget properly.

Do it ASAP so people know to budget for it. Mine isn't til next November and I've already sent the invites out!! I got overly excited and couldn't stop myself!!!

My bridesmaids used facebook for arranging hen and keeping people up to date and found it the easiest way! And it's probably best to give people as much notice as possible so they are more likely to commit to going and can keep some money aside for it x

The company I'm using have their own bit on the website that deals with invites, collecting payments etc which we'll use later.

As I'm having a London Hen weekend in June I put some of the main details - as in when and the fact its in London on facebook. I know its about a million months in advance but knowing that friends will be having to book leave in January if they're coming from overseas it made sense. It also gives them a chance to save and sort out accomodation which I'm told is going to be a nghtmare becasue of the run up to the Olympics
