Going by what I seen when we had our late night fast food shop in Belfast there was gangsters, little bo peep, cow boys and indians and playboy bunnies.

For friends hen do's before I have done:

cowgirls, bumblebees (very easy and looks great), sheila's wheels (doing that one in Feb - quite nervous - not easy but looks cool) and dressed up in a certain colour.

Bumblebees were black top, black leggings and then wings from just for fun as well as boppers and then bought some yellow netting (very cheap) and made a tutu as well as cutting off some bands to go across the chest.

Believe me, it is very easy. If I can do it - worlds worst sewer, then anyone can. The strips were safety pinned on. All you need to get for the tutus is yellow net and some elastic and then sew the netting around the elastic making sure there is more material so that it gathers. Then hey presto. Probably took my friend and I about an hour to make 15 of them!

We've discussing ideas and someone has suggested that the bride wears a white dress and the girls wear long dresses (any colour) to be bridesmaids and wear tiaras etc.

I've seen policewoman, pink ladies, everyone in PJs (did this for my 1st Hen party) made falling into bed so much easier.

We've done cowboys (too!) fairies, and also a sex and the city type cocktail night.

you could also do chavs, 80's themed, 70's themed, pop stars...

I have dressed up as a bee a number of times. It's great fun and easy to do. To get stripes, I would recommend getting hold of some yellow electrical tape and sticking it to your clothes. I also like the non sexual element of being a bee - blokes tended not to be leery like they would if you were policewomen etc.

How about everyone has to dress up as something beginning with the first letter of her maiden name?

We had a pirate theme for my friend's hen night in August. It was cheap and easy to do and you could make it as slutty or as safe as you wanted.

I just wore a pair of skinny jeans and some knee high boots, a large man's shirt, a waistcoat and a big belt from Primark and various skull and crossbone paraphenalia from Claire's and the local joke shop.

I had an inflatable parrot which I velcroed to the shoulder of my waistcoat as well!
