Well, what a fantastic weekend. I am still overwhelmed with how much effort my friends made to give me two great hen nights. I promised a “mini” report but I think its going to be a bit longer than I thought…
Hen Night 1 – Friday night at Karen#%92s House
So, all I knew was that had to come dressed as a WAG. All the girls there are the girlfriends (and one wife!) of the lads which have gone away on the Vegas stag do. They all play football together so in a way its how most of us met each other so a WAG theme was really appropriate. So, for the outfit I hit Primark and founds some tacky gold hoops, a big gold belt and wore it with a black dress with a big bag. I was going for the “Colleen” look with my hairband! And I was given a veil too to complete my LOOK! EVERYONE looked fab all blinged up.
When I got there I was confronted with a life size POSTER of my H2B wearing just his boxers shorts flexing his “muscles”!! He#%92d sneaked round at the weekend to pose for Karen. I bet he loved it, he#%92s such a tart. Was really surprised and it really made me laugh and it was funny that my OH was at my hen night… kinda. Anyway, he took a liking to KAREN and kept falling on her! We#%92re going to give the poster to his best man… sure he can use it in his speech somehow!?!
So, first game…. personalised sketch books were handed out courtesy of Laura (which were v cool and will be going in my keepsake box) and we were told that everyone had to draw a pic of what they thought my H2B#%92s willy looked like and I had to judge which was closest! Few mumbles of “I can#%92t draw willies” and Kerrie said she#%92d find us something to copy to help us. Wondering what she is going to come in with but I sure as hell didn#%92t expect a naked MAN wrapped only in a pink towel to appear!!!! My first thought was ‘oh god a stripper#%92 but he was a nude life drawing model that did hen parties!!! So SKETCH PADS came out and lots of naked man DRAWINGS were started! Never expected it in a million years but was very funny (although we decided he talked to much!).
We played the Mr and Mrs Game too where OH had been asked lots of questions and I had to see if I got the same answer. Ummm didn#%92t do very well getting 9/17 oops!
Next was a sort of “pin the willy on Simon” so down came the poster and out came this weird WEIRD STICKY GOOEY WILLY THING which we had to THROW AT THE POSTER.
Love THIS PIC of all of us and OH!
Had a really great night and all the girls made such an effort with everything they arranged including loads of food.

Hen Night 2 – Saturday night in Southampton
All I knew for this one was to wear a skirt and white sandals (although a few people had let things slip so I had my suspicions). Some of the girls turned up at my house for cocktails and to “get me ready” and they gave me a t-shirt with pink diamonte Bride To Be on the FRONT and “Humphrey#%92s Hawaiian Hen Night 5th April 2008” on the BACK. Next was a bright pink hula skirt, matching garland, a pink flower for my hair and to finished it off a FLASHING GARTER. I loved my OUTFIT!!! Oh and I had an inflatable palm tree too.
So off we went into town to meet everyone at the restaurant. Turned up and there were 25 of them all with black sashes printed with “Humphrey#%92s Hawaiian Hens” and flower garlands. Everyone looked fab and there were loads of balloons and banners too. It was hard to take everything in but I slowly noticed all the things they had arranged. There were laminated personalised PLACE MATS with young photos of me and ones with friends over the years, everyone had PLACE NAME CARDS and FAVOURS too which were little choc eggs wrapped up.
Whilst dinner was served we had a Pass The Parcel. My bridesmaid Lisa had done a huge pass the parcel with about 30 layers where she had put a truth or dare in each layer and then a card saying how many people to pass it on by. It was really cool and inside there were personalised bars of chocs with “Humphrey#%92s Hawaiian Hen Night printed on them”. Food was lovely although I had a funny five minutes after the main course when I felt really sick and ill. I think it had all just got to me and it was a bit overwhelming that everyone was there for me etc. Couldn't face dessert even thought it was a choc cheesecake which is my fave!
One of my BMs was going round with a Polaroid camera and getting everyone to write next to their pics in an album. I really can#%92t wait to see it!
After dinner I felt loads better and then the music started. The restaurant either have a singer or tribute act. We only found out a few days before that we were having a SINGER doing motown and 60s music – which is my fave music so it was perfect! He was excellent and my mum is really disappointed that she can#%92t book him for the wedding now!!! Everyone was singing along and then after a little while we were all up dancing. Oh and I was quite chuffed we had most of the restaurant up doing the conga! It#%92s a fantastic restaurant and any Southampton girls wanting a great hen night – Merchants is your place.
Lots of Hen Night 2 photos here if you scroll through:http://hitched.photobox.co.uk/album/album_photo.html?c_photo=1677788289
So all in all a bl00dy fantastic weekend and I am really touched that everyone went to so much trouble and effort. I have such lovely friends!
Hope you're still awake!
