Heavier eyebrows and more of a catseye! And more lashes!

(Burlesque is my speciality, I used to work for a company who specialised in burlesque hgotography.)

I really like it! Love the 50s style. I would suggest adding more of a wing to your eyeliner to make it a bit more 50s. Have you looked at any tutorial videos on YouTube? I do like the hair too. Personally, I'd also colour the eyebrows a little more too. Other than that - lovely!

ETA: agree with JVS. I'd add false lashes too!

Ideally, your eyeliner shouldn't come underneath the lashline on the bottom lashes as it distracts from the shape of the wing, so just try darkening the lash line.

The best way to do a wing is to to use a bank card (or library card, or short ruler- something sturdy and straight that you can wipe clean), line it up between the outer corner of the eye and the end of your brow and draw along it- like a guide. You can also do that with medical tape. You'll have a perfectly proportioned wing then.

    Good luck!

Ok, Here's how to draw on your eyebrows 1940's style.

Step 1: take a pencil. Line the pencil up with the outside of your nose and the inner corner of your eye. This is where the inside of your brow should begin, your brows should not be any closer together than this. Draw a dot.

Step 2: Take your pencil. Line the outside of your nostril with the outside edge of your iris. When the pencil reaches your eyebrow, this is where the curve of your eyebrow should begin. Draw a dot.

Step 3: Line the outside of your nostril up with the outer corner of your eye.About halfway between your eye and your hair line, draw a dot.

Step 4: Draw between all the dots. Make sure your inner brow has a defined edge to it, thicken to the arch of the brow. From the arch to the end of the brow, it should thin out.

Eyebrows should be quite dark, thick and defined, almost as if to counteract how heavy your lashes are going to be!!!!! Your eyebrows look quite thick anyway, so if you don't want to use a pencil you can just use a dark eyeshadow.

For your eyelashes, I would apply a full set of lashes accross the entire lashline, then snip a second eyelash in half apply one half to the outer corner of either eye. Why stop there? I've gone on a night out with 4 pairs of lashes on ?

Another tip for the liner- try doing the initial lining with an eye pencil, then go over the top with a liquid liner ( I reccommend the black liquid liner by 2True, a really cheap makeup line in superdrug. For the price of it, it's amazing). You'll have a really intense, dense colour and it will stay on ALL NIGHT!

Sorry, I only have pics of naked ladies, you might want to add NSFW to the title of the thread. (Sorry admins, I mean this all in good taste!)

Check out the eyebrows on Kitten Deville. She's a pretty good eyebrow idol.

Also: red lipstick MUST be MATTE. No Gloss i'm afraid, it just wouldn't have happened until about 1976.

NSFW = Not safe for work!

I don't know what your budget is, but you can get loads of decent burlesque/pinup style dresses on ebay these days, and they are nice enough (and not costumey) to wear after your hen.

This is a particular favourite of mine:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-50s-ROCKABILLY-STYLE-BLACK-BELTED-RUFFLED-DRESS-/130500541855?pt=UK_Women_s_Dresses&var=&hash=item641f15a4e6#ht_789wt_905

If you fancy making something, I saw a bustle made really quickly and cheaply by sewing a piece of fabric about 6" by 1" lengthways accross the arse of a skirt, then three feather boas were just threaded through it. You could stick to a pencil skirt and a corset style top, then add a bustle and a few feathers in your hair?

Corsets are also pretty cheap on ebay, although I wouldn't reccomend wearing the cheaper ones without extra suppport as the boning in them is shockingly bad 😮 You could wear a top underneath, then wear your super supportive bra, then wear the corset like a waspie over the top?

Lastly, if your budget is tight, you could try doing a diy project of something like this:

That way, you get to wear a top that is comfortable and flattering, but still inspired.

I think as long as you have got the accessories right, you can get away with anything- long sleeved gloves are a must, as are seamed stockings. I once did a hen parties makeup for a burlesque themed night- all they wore where black t-shirts with nipple pasties stuck on. It was hilariously effective! And I bet it got them a lot of attention.

Hope this helps, private message me if you need more help xx
