I am, i did some for a 50th birthday trip my mum had too. Ours were more of a hangover kit though, they had:

    - paracetamol
    - ibuprofen
    - small pack of baby wipes (they're 3 for £1)
    - mini deodorant
    - mums bags had sweets from her childhood, hen ones will have various cheesy hen paraphernalia (willy straws, big fake rings etc etc)
    - lucozade
    - personalised little badges

I was thinking of doing this. We're going on a spa weekend so was thinking of things like -

    Face mask

    Mini nail varnish

    Wedding candle

    Chocolates

    Mini bottle of wine

That might work out a bit expensive though!

Quick Q - Whose job is it to prepare these gift bags, the bride or the BMs? It wasn't something that I was considering doing and I don't know if the BMs are doing anything. To be honest, I don't think it is my place to instruct the BMs to prepare gift bags; they either do it or they don't.

I was thinking along similar lines. I believe my bridesmaids are organising party bags for everyone, however I was thinking whether they should also get something from me to say thank you for coming? On all the other hens I've been on I have never got anything from the bride so maybe it is a BM thing?

I haven't even asked my bridesmaid they have already done so much for me. I would just do them myself.

I'm getting little gift bags for them to say thank you for coming on my hen weekend. Planning on putting a thankyou card, a homemade peanut butter chocolate brownie & a mini bottle of wine in. I've got 20 girls coming so wanted to keep it cheapish x

I had my hen do last week and my sister (MOH) made up bags for me and all 22 of my hens (although I did pay for them as I was getting a free weekend!). Each had a hen party sash, lots of willy paraphernalia (straws, whistles, shot glass, bubbles etc..) badges for them to wear, a bag full of sweets and a dare card. I had a few little extras in mine.. A few L plates, veil.. All the classy stuff! They were fab! I think it's nice for everyone to get into the spirit of things.. X

I had my hen weekend a few weeks ago and I made up party bags/survival kits for all of us. There were 6 girls and I put in

    a mini bottle of prosecco

    a wine glass charm

    chocolate from cocoa delicious

an eye mask and ear plugs (we were sharing rooms)

    tissues

    mini hand cream

    lip balm

the girls loved it. I did it as a thank you for coming gift as they'd all paid for a weekend away which I was really grateful for I wouldn't have expected my MOH to do it as she'd organised the whole thing already

Out of curiosity, how much did you spend on the hen party gift bags?

Whilst it is a nice-to-have, would it be a massive faux pas if no gift bags were handed out (it would be more along the lines of a 'thank-you' gift, rather than a survival pack for the day)? Please bear in mind, this is for a bride who has insisted on paying for herself, has asked for the hen do to take place locally to minimise transports costs, and the day has been structured so that the hens can pick and choose the activities so there is no feeling obliged to attend an activity they don't want to or spend more money than they would like to.
