There has been countless threads over the years about people asking "what's your budget?" "where are you getting married?" etc etc. If people didn't want to offer this information, they wouldn't. And how on earth the information given on this thread would lead to wedding day cancellations is beyond me.

As for the part I have highlighted in bold, I can confirm that prior to meeting CB for the first time, she asked to see my passport, a copy of my bank statement and interrogated me with regards to my outgoings. I believe this is fairly normal though, no?

Why the bloody hell should CB be ashamed of herself? This thread was an attempt (after the fluffy debacle) to get people talking and introduce the OMs & newbies. No-one, bar you, has said it was offensive.

I think this is just a thinly veiled attempt to get at CB for no apparent reason. It makes me sad, as FWIW, CB has become a very close friend of mine and this dig is completely unwarranted, unnecessary & unjustified. If you look back through her posts, she has always been very helpful to OMs and new posters alike - didn't she win an award recognising this?

That's the bit that made it clear to me that it was a personal dig too. I would never consider Cricks as someone who picks her friends and acquaintances on such a shallow basis.

For the record, I'm neither particuarly weathly, good-looking or interesting (full british citizen though, that must be it!) but Cricks has been just lovely to me both on Hitched and off. When we barely knew each other at all she took the time to meet up with me and counsel me through a really tough time at work. I couldn't have asked for more from even my closest friends (one of which I hope Cricks will become, and I'd be proud to say she was).

As for the questions, yes maybe it's a bit nosy, but aren't all forum questions like that to an extent? Isn't part of the reason we're here to get an insight into other people's weddings, which are in some respects one of the most private elements of your life? No one has to answer the 'census', I don't like to talk about money so I chose not to answer it. No one is going to hold that against me or say I *must* participate. I'm totally with you on the privacy element TeeHee, but please don't be awful to Cricks for posting questions which have been asked time and again in various guises on these forums.
