Hitcher who had 60 minute makeover?

Was it Fuzzypinkloon? I vaguely rememebr the thread about it when it was on?

Didn't she reveal that they only paint around furniture and not behind it? Or am I thinking about something/someone else?

They film all day. They empty the house, strip walls etc before they start the clock, decorate for 30 mins then have a few hours break to give the paint time to dry. Then they do the second half (another 30 mins).

They do a pretty shoddy job, but hey, its free. What do people expect? ?

It does say in the show that they prep before hand. I can't believe they can get a bathroom or kitchen fitted with new carpets and things in 60 minutes.

The furniture they use is often lovely and v expensive though isn't it?

It is, some of the stuff is really lovely. I think that as there are about 30 of them working on it, its not that much work per person. They seem to have about 8 or so per room, plus others outside assembling stuff etc.

I seem to recall that they painted her lounge but not behind the sofa then didn't leave them the paint to finish the job. I think she also said the army of decorators were just out of work actors.

I'm not very keen on what they do, they paint over any old wallpaper (ie so it looks ok on the tv but can't look that great close up) and the rooms don't always work, lots of cheap looking gimmicky themes IMO.

I think if I came home and found Terry Dwyer and an over-emotional relative on my doorstep I'd drive off again. Imagine having a film crew rummaging around in your belongings <shudder>.

I think the best ones are where they get free TVs and furniture. The rest is pretty naff looking.

I remember when they painted a wall a suede effect brown which wouldn't dry.

It was fuzzypinkloon. They did an ok room complete with designer plastic sofa for her bunnies but the rest wasn't great.

Shame the job they do isn't that great (but no surprise to be honest). Don't they usually spend a fair old amount excluding the labour? I'm sure one I watched the other week quoted the make over had cost more than £20,000?

Didn't the hitcher end up taking all the furniture back to the stores and spent the money?
I remember watching the episode and the Scouse woman who presented it (used to be in Brookie) got annoyed when the hitcher said she didn't like it?
