Homemade peg dolls *flash*

FHB, 11 of January of 2014 at 23:23 Posted on Planning 0 8

So somehow after trawling Pinterest for weeks I came up with the great idea of painting my own peg dolls as cake toppers. So I ordered some on plain pegs online and bought acrylic paints etc from hobbycraft and began my mission.

then when I met with the bakery and picked my cake..I realised I wouldn't need a cake topper as it has icing flowers on the top. Grr.

But being a frugal scottish bride..from the highlands no less (the tightest penny pinchers) I decided not to waste them and to use them as decoration for the bottom of our wish tree.

here's a pic so far...all the block colouring done but still lots of the finer details of my dress, his cravat etc to be done. And obviously our faces. Not bad for a first attempt but I'd love to buy more professional brushes and paints and try it as a proper hobby.

I've found it quite relaxing to do! And it's something you can start and stop Smiley smile I saw lots of them online and just think they are the cutest things ever. I'm tempted to do the groomsmen and BM's too but then I'll end up with a whole family of them

Wow! They're really good! Well done! I wish I was artistic enough to be able to do something like that. I've ordered some to be made for us (from Love On Top mentioned above)!

Very nice indeed. i don't have an artistic bone in my body so I admire anyone who can make something like this look good.
