Honeymoon help - cyprus in april?

moaner12, 20 of November of 2008 at 20:09 Posted on Planning 0 8

Our wedding is in less than 5 months and can't seem to find a honeymoon. We want something luxurious but I hate flying! We're looking at Cyprus but I'm not sure if it'll be warm enough in early April - also wants something in walking distance of a few restuarants and things although we're planning to hire a car. I just don't know where to start - i don't know anything about Cyprus or where is nice to go -PLEASE HELP!! XX

Hi there! We are thinking of Cyrus now too as my Mums friend has a villa out there. We wll be going end of June and it's supposed to be boiling! I would imagine April will be nice too but not quite so hot! Have you looked on the net?

North Cyprus is beautiful. We are thinking of going to Kyrenia and hiring a car for the whole time too so we can explore! Flights are expensive though £700 for both of us return!

    Good luck!

    Hi,

We went to Cyrpus around the 14th of May for a week. h2b got quite burnt, it was starting to increase in temperature when we were there. We were in Paphos the old town, we eat out every night and the 1 restuarant we found we went twice. The brandy is good, but not for the hangover. We hired a car, and visted the beach above Paphos, which has gone out of head at the moment very busy but worth a look, we did visit the tomb of the kings which is very open and we were hot there best early in the morning there. We did Afridities rock ( sorry on spelling) and pisori (again sorry on spelling) I think we had a car 3/ 4 days. Want to go back and have said as a honeymoon, will have to wait and see

Let us know how you get on

I would say April/May would be the best time to go to Cyprus as it wouldn't be too hot but still pleasant enough to sunbathe.

Sicily would probably also be nice that time of year, as would the Canaries! I've been to the Canaries numerous times in April and it is perfect, although you need a cardi at night!

Cyprus is hot all year round which is one of the reason its so expensive to stay there.

Love love love Cyprus and totally reccommend here for your honeymoon. Ive been to cyprus times - once to Limmasol, once to Nissi beach and twice to Ayia napa and I would reccommend Nissi beach - fab hotels and only 2 km from Ayia napa...here is not what u think its going to be. yes theres bars but there is also some of the best restuarants on the island and the harbour is lovely.

    Hope this helps

Hiya, it really depends what you are looking for with your honeymoon. I have been to Cyprus 7 times over the past 8years, staying at various locations-East and West and travelling throughout. Went start of April a few years ago and it was not that warm and rained a few days.

During the past 6 years, sadly it has got more and more commercialised. Paphos, Ayia Napa and Protaras-Think lots of bars with kareoke and only fools and horses (although as it is April it will be realtively quiet). the restaurants are also quite overpriced unless you go out of the town into the villages.

Went to Paphos this year and sadly will not be rushing back!!! Hotels are rather expensive and be cautious of the Star Rating-we were meant to be in a 5 star and it was propbably a 3. I would advise you use Trip Advisor before you book.

I have never been to the Northern side, but friends who live there say it is beautiful and unspolit, unlike the south. If you do consider going to Cyprus I would go to the North. Also hire a car and then you will be able to have adventures to wherever you like. Ohhh the only thing to be mindfull of is most car hire companies will not let you cross the border to North/South.

Hope that helps!! Difficult when not sure what type of holidays you would normally choose. Also this it just my personal opionion as I can see lots of otehr folk seem to love it!! :0)

We spent our honeymoon in Cyprus end of Oct this yr, the weather was gorgeous for that time of yr but I gather that its hot all yr round.

We stayed in Protaras, it was very commercialised but we were lucky the hotel was gorgeous right on the beach, it was fantastic and luckily we went end of season so reasonably quiet.

I would deffo go back to Cyprus again, have been in a decline since I have been home, I wanna go back lol .

We spent most of the honeymoon chilling by the pool, sunbathing and swimming, we wanted a relaxing holiday even though there was plenty of excursions. We did go on a boat trip along the bay and we also had an afternoon trip to Famagusta and the Ghost Town which was an experience.

We stayed all inc in a newly refurbed 4 star hotel and it was definitley worth the 4 stars it was perfect.

I don't know whether you're still looking for information about Cyprus. If you check my profile you'll notice I live on the island. if you want to ask me anything specific about the island I'll be glad to help,

    Regards Michele
