Honeymoon in Cornwall in November, any recommendations?

rach_S_, 21 August, 2014 at 07:29 Posted on Planning 0 7

Morning everyone!

We've done a big U- turn and decided to go to Gran Caneria for one week and one week in Cornwall- we love it there!

We've been many times and tend to go back to the places we love, wanted to get a few recommendations from you all to see if we find somewhere a bit different.

We would quite like to look out to sea, be in walking distance to a pub (?) or somewhere to go in the evenings.

thank you x

We are doing a similar thing to you. We are doing 5 days in Newquay with our son and then 1 week in Marrakech just the 2 of us Smiley smile Our Newquay hols may be a bit different to what you are after as this for us is about giving our son some quality time with us before we jet off on our own. We have booked a lodge through hoseasons with it's own private hot tub, we went for quite a luxury one but there are ones to suit all budgets and in all different areas so this may be an option. We have gone for one with a centre attached but not too close so we will have a pool, playground, sports etc close by. They also do the lodges in secluded areas without centres attached so defo worth a look on their website. Newquay is a pretty little village but also a tourist spot so you will find restaurants/bars etc. Hope this helps Smiley smile We will be going to Newquay zoo, aquarium, beach etc Smiley smile

H2B and I spent a week in Cornwall last September and loved it. We stayed in a holiday cottage with a hot-tub (there are three on the same site: https://www.classic.co.uk/holiday-cottage/desc-2361.html and all lovely, with a hot-tub each) - there was a pub within walking distance in the village down the road, but I would also recommend staying in Porthleven, which is a very pretty nearby fishing village with some fab restaurants (please try Blue Haze if you go!) and a couple of nice pubs. Right on the coast! We are thinking of going down for a couple of nights next month to stay in the An Mordros hotel which has sea views. For something rather special, try the Mullion Cove Hotel a little further down into the Lizard.

I'm getting married in Mevagissey in Cornwall. It's a really cute, beautiful fishing village on the south coast. It might be a bit quiet in November though (we viewed the venue in January and some of the restaurants/businesses were closed - pubs were all open!), but it's close to Truro & St Austell (Eden Project). Lost Gardens of Heligan are just up the road so we plan to visit there during wedding week.

We stayed in an apartment on fore street in St Ives. Then had 1 night at the Harbour Hotel. I would totally recommend it! The restaurants and pubs are seconds away, and such a beautiful harbour!

So many beautiful places in cornwall, st ives has to be my all time fave, however like newquay, its a busy place in the summer season. Theyre lots of beautiful little villages like, st agnes, trevellas, porthtowan, port issac, polperro to name a few. I love newquay, however living in cornwall, i avoid it like the plague in summer season as its full of drunken stag parties most of the time.

I love Cornwall! It's one of my favourite places. My grandparents were born down there and I spent 2 weeks every summer as a kid holidaying down there. Rock pooling, body boarding, pasties and clotted cream!

I would definitely recommend Perranporth! They have a pub on the beach called The Watering Hole which is great, some nice places to eat, but its not too touristy! The beach is lovely and clean and it has some beautiful coastal walks.

I also stayed at The Harbour Hotel in St Ives in April for a wedding actually. The hotel was lovely, but pricier than we would normally go, but beautiful views and massive beds!! St Ives is nice as well, but lots of hills lol
