WCS with bells on. I am not an expert at pronouncing things. My H still chuckles at me mis-pronouncing Bombardier as Bom-bar-diay

My friend thought that Hermione was pronounced Hermy-won

We were discussing Harry Potter when we found this out - I still snigger when I think about it and we've never let her forget it

See I think that almost makes sense to think that, as without the ë is technically is like jo/joe same with Zoe and Zoë the diaeresis tells you that you pronouce the e rather than run the vowels together in a diphthong

I used to think Hermione was pronounced Hermy-own until I started watching cold feet and watched a few interviews with Hermione Norris.

So are you meant to pronounce Bombardier then? I'd day Bom-bar-di-yeah so French stylee.

I always think it funny that that in the UK Beaulieu is pronounced "bew lee" whereas here we say it the French way "Bow lee err". ?

French/Canadian stylee is apparently correct. Some boating bores clever people pronounce it bom-bar-DEE-yeh and some pronounce it bom-bar-DEE-yay - tis much easier now they are generally known as BRP ?
