What about Genevieve? (or various spellings thereof) I always thought that was Jen-eh-veev, until about a year ago I came across someone who calls herself John-vee-ev. Have I been worng all these years and Jen-eh-veev is actually spelled differently? Or does she just have french parents?

Perhaps I'll do just that Smint! ?

Daisy - it sounds as though she is pronouncing it 'a la francais' and with a name like that i'd be pretty sure there is a French connection somewhere in the family. As far as I know Genevieve is spelt the same however you say it. ?
