How do you remove vocals from a song in GarageBand?

hsiyu1987, 18 May, 2012 at 09:14 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

My cousins wedding is in two days. His fiancé and I have been trying SO hard to remove the vocals from just a section of the song for a more dramatic effect for her entrance and are having no luck. Please help!!! ASAP. Simply. We are not that computer savy. Smiley winking Thank you!

Dip it in a vat of acid, then set fire to it. That should remove anything.

Pause the track and sing it yourself

I can't help, however I hope you find the answer you need & that someone responds to your other thread about sourcing a viking romance novel.

As others have said. - If your not computer savy then why are you in charge of this 2 days before a wedding??

And to get my audio engineer geek on - It's impossible to remove the vocals from a track without causing severe discolouration and warping in the sound of the rest of the track. If you don't want vocals, either buy it as an instrumental, or Karaoke track. Alternatively track down the master copy from the studio and record it onto a CD/ hard drive with the vocals on mute! Ta Da!!

ETA - I can't help with a Viking romance novel i'm afraid. maybe you should write one?

Once upon a time there was a Viking named Erik, who was in love with a Saxon name Ethelreda.

Their families didn't approve. There was a lot of fighting and some intermittent pillaging with a bit of illicit snogging thrown in for Mills and Boon style measure. It didn't end well.

You don't think the characterisation is a little thin?

Throw in some euphemisms for viking bits and you'll be grand.

    Or poetry...?

There once was a Viking called Per

    With fabulous red facial hair

    He loved a sweet girl

who would give him a whirl

But not til he grew a big pair.

Look, I'm sorry, I'm between paragraphs of a financial report....
