How do you sack the best man?

*Mini*, 15 August, 2011 at 18:49 Posted on Planning 0 8

The September wedding thread has made us think...MrMini wants to sack his BM- he has been useless and isnt even now coming on the stag do (which he fialed to organize)

How do you suggest sacking someone? And if you do are they still invited to the wedding (assuming they want to come?)

If anyone has done this- let me know- I dont want this man there with such an important role in our day when all he has done is let OH down.

Not a best man but i have sacked 2 of my bridesmaids!

i think it went something along the lines of

I think it's best if your not part of our wedding since you think it's ok to gossip, backstab and *** about me behind my back. Ill be finding other bridesmaids.

My motto is blunt is best!

Face to face, definitely, rather than text or email.

Probably need to make a list of all the reasons why you feel the need to replace him, and at least give him the chance to explain himself even if that doesn't change how you feel.

Apart from not organising or being part of the stag do, what else has he done or not done?

Was it made clear to him what was expected of him when he was asked, or is he just assuming he turns up on the day and that's about it?

The conversation could go something like this:

Hey Dave (or whatever), do you really want to be best man? Only my mate who organised my stag do with me really deserves the job, he's been really helpful and supportive. You don't seem to be that interested, and my mate would jump at the chance. You can still come of course...if you want to....as a guest...

Report him to the police as been part of the riots. He will be in prison tomorrow for a few months at least :-)

I love this! I think Jude has hit the nail on the head but with some tweaks, MrMini had to plan his own stag do...maybe he should be his own best man?
