How long after no response from a supplier should i find another?

Laura, 25 October, 2024 at 08:12 Posted on Planning 0 2
We are getting married in just over 18 months and are looking for quite a different cake with a specific design however, I am open to options to alter the design and made it clear that the budget isn’t an issue.
I had a meeting with a cake maker who said they would explore the cake options etc and get back to me with a quote, that was over a month ago. I heard nothing so sent another email however, there still hasn’t been a response.

How long should I leave it before approaching someone else? I have found another cake maker who’s designs align with our vision however, I don’t want to then approach someone else and the initial supplier comes back and I’m left in an awkward situation.
It is a summer wedding, so during peak season and everything else is booked so we could get the suppliers we wanted.

I think you have done all you can, time to find another one I think. Countless times on here there are bad stories that always seem to start with slow communication, then its ok then not then ultimately ends with a last min let down.

Maybe I'm impatient, but when I contact a supplier I'm looking for a response within a week max. Slow communication doesn't bode well with me, at the end of the day you're looking to spend a lot of money with them, its not a good start to the experience if you're having to chase them already.
