How long between Ceremony and Dinner?

GeordieBarbie, 24 September, 2009 at 07:45 Posted on Planning 0 7

Just wondering how long you've planned between the end of the ceremony and the dinner? I've been working out an idea of the running order of the day and have allocated about 1.5 hours. This will be for the photos and for welcome drinks.

Our ceremony should finish at 2pm and the meal is planned for 3.30pm, so an hour and a half for photos and drinks.

We have planned for between an hour and half / two hours. Ceremony starts at 2.30, wedding breakfast is at 5pm.

Just noticed you are in Reading, I am in Thatcham so perhaps we can share tips!

We are having our ceremony at 3, and speeches start at 5, followed my the meal. This means that by the time everyone has got from the ceremony venue to the reception venue the should only be hanging around for about an hour - and photos will be happing then so that will keep people busy!

Our ceremony should finish around 2.45pm and our wedding breakfast starts at 4.30pm, but they will call people in around 4pm to be seated - so it will be around an hour, maybe an hour and 15 mins or so for photos and drinks.

Thanks all! Looks like I guessed about right ?

Off to see the venue on Saturday so I'm sure they'll have some ideas too. We can't get married until 4.00pm so was thinking 4.30pm - 6.00pm for photos and mingling and maybe 6.00pm/6.30pm for dinner...

I am indeed in Reading! Hello! Have you got a venue and date?

We've booked a provisional date at our "dream" venue and are off to view them on Saturday so should be able to confirm then! Wooo!
